Presentations from Teng, Sei Ping, Luis and Davide9th July 2012
Today, Teng, Sei Ping, Luis and Davide all presented their research as part of the ESS group's student seminar series.
Davide presenting his research
Teng presented his research on interoperability in wireless sensor networks, Sei Ping on intelligent adaptive street lighting, Luis on machine learning for adaptive power management, and Davide on energy-aware algorithms for wireless sensor networks.
All received a lot of useful questions and feedback on their research, and it was a useful exercise in finding out more about what everyone is up to!

Stuart's Internship on Energy Harvesting30th September 2011
This summer, one of our undergraduate electronic engineering students, Stuart Barrow, worked with me for three months on the pioneering EPSRC-funded project on "Next Generation Energy-Harvesting Electronics - A Holistic Approach". Stuart developed an ultra low-power system that analyses vibrations and transmits them wirelessly. The photo shows Stuart testing his system on a car engine - the hardware on the engine is detecting vibrations, processing them, and transmitting them wirelessly to a lap... [more]
