Alex presenting his research at IET WSS 2012
Today Alex presented his research at the IET conference on Wireless Sensing Systems (WSS). His paper was on the topic of "Adaptive Sampling in Context-Aware Systems: A Machine Learning Approach", and is a method he is researching to attempt to maximise the usefullness of images captured by the DejaView system, while minimising energy consumption.

Davide being awarded the prize
Davide Zilli recevied the Silver Award for his poster presentation at the University's 2013 Postgraduate Research Showcase. The award was presented to him by the University's Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Mark Spearing.His poster was on his research into the use of smartphones for biodiversity monitoring, in particular the hunt for the New Forest Cicada.

WiSE held it's first 'Project Day', an intensive one-day problem-based exercise for PhD students in ECS that are researching wireless sensing related topics. Ten students took part in an intensive day which ran from 8am to 7pm!
